Today, USC Rossier finalized a partnership with City Year, a leading education nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students stay in school and on track to succeed. The USC Rossier and City Year collaboration showcases both organizations’ joint efforts to positively impact the community.
As part of City Year National Service Alumni Partnership Network, City Year AmeriCorps members, alumni and staff are eligible for a merit-based tuition scholarship starting at $30,000 to be disbursed equally over three semesters. Applications are open to AmeriCorp members applying to the USC Rossier’s Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) for the summer 2025 cohort.
“By working together, we will make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and help create a brighter future for our communities,” said USC Rossier Dean Pedro Noguera. “Collaborations like this are essential in creating opportunities for students to succeed in school and beyond. We are proud to be a part of what we expect will be an impactful partnership."
"We are excited to partner with USC Rossier and support our alumni as they deepen their support of students, classrooms and schoolhouses,” said Dr. Sandra Cano, City Year Los Angeles Executive Director. “This collaboration will allow City Year AmeriCorps members to build on their experience during service and become best-in-class educators through USC Rossier’s MAT program.”
About City Year
City Year is a trailblazing, youth-powered organization with a dual mission: expanding educational equity for students furthest from opportunity and developing diverse leaders through national service. Research shows the more time a student spends with a City Year AmeriCorps member serving as student success coach, the better the student outcomes—academically, socially and emotionally. A public-private partnership, City Year is a proud member of AmeriCorps, operating in 29 U.S. cities with international affiliates in the U.K. and South Africa. Today, nearly 40,000 alums continue to lead and serve where they live and work. Learn more about City Year’s six areas of impact or how to serve: www.cityyear.org.
