Dear Colleagues,
As teachers and education administrators, we are committed to providing all students with a strong education and cultivating a learning environment that values respect, empathy and inclusivity.
Election cycles can evoke strong emotions across the spectrum. Right now, members of our community are experiencing a wide range of thoughts and feelings. Regardless of individual perspectives, we each share a commitment to fostering understanding, respect and thoughtful discourse within our community. Let us use this time to engage with one another thoughtfully. As dean, I am committed to ensuring that everyone at USC Rossier feels empowered and included.
The well-being of each community member is our highest priority. To that end, I want to remind you of the resources available to all Trojans who may need assistance during this time. As students confront these challenges in their academic lives, faculty and staff may also find themselves navigating sensitive discussions in classrooms and offices. We acknowledge how complex this situation is and encourage you to reach out to USC Rossier leadership or use the resources listed below if you require support.
USC provides comprehensive counseling and support services for all students, faculty and staff, including a range of mental health and wellness resources available 24/7. Students, faculty and staff with concerns should know that USC is here for them and can report those concerns through the USC Report & Response website.
As we navigate the semester, please know that we are here for you. If you have any questions, comments or requests, do not hesitate to reach out.
Wishing you all a strong conclusion to the semester.
Warm regards,
Pedro A. Noguera PhD
