Bio
Before coming to USC, Reina Kang taught kindergarten for three years in a dual-language school in Oakland, CA. Her experiences as a teacher profoundly shaped her desire to improve access and quality of social-emotional learning for marginalized youth.
She is pursuing a Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Education Psychology under the mentorship of Dr. Brendesha Tynes. She is also a research assistant for the Center for Empowered Learning and Development with Technology. Reina holds a master of science in education studies from Johns Hopkins University, a teacher's credential from Loyola Marymount University, and a bachelor of arts in English from UC Berkeley.
