Bio

Julie Chung (she/her/hers) is a PhD student in the Education program with a concentration in Educational Psychology at the University of Southern California Rossier School of Education. She is advised by Dr. Brendesha Tynes.

Julie's research focuses on the design of digital learning experiences and how technology can be used to empower and support students. Additionally, she is interested in how accessibility and inclusion relate to identity and decision making in education. She hopes that her work will lead to changes in policy and practice within K-12 and higher education that will positively impact students' educational journeys.

Prior to attending USC, Julie earned her Bachelor of Arts degrees at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in Education Sciences and Psychological Science. At UCI, Julie was a Career Pathways for Research in Learning and Education, Analytics and Data Science (CP-LEADS) Fellow and a Research Assistant in the UCI Digital Learning Lab.
