Bio

Dr. Emmy J. Min is a Professor of Clinical Education. She is a faculty member for the MAT-TESOL program. Her area of expertise is Teacher Education.

She is an expert in language education with the focus on teaching strategies and approaches.  She has been invited to be a keynote speaker to discuss TESOL teaching practices with equity, diversity and inclusion. She has published many articles and book chapters on teaching languages and assessing student performances and is invited frequently to give talks, webinars and workshops. Recently, Dr.Min was a English Language Specialist for the Department of State's English Language Specialist program and trained English teachers abroad.  Through her teaching, service and practice, she strives to empower teachers and teacher candidates to be change agents committed to urban and global education through language education, and help teachers and teacher candidates gain deeper insight into individual, cultural, and international contexts of diversity and language as a system. 

Before coming to USC, Dr. Min was an instructor at the University of California, Riverside prior to which she taught at Kyunghee University in Korea. Before her career in higher education, Dr. Min taught English to speakers of other languages in both national and international contexts for over ten years. Dr. Min earned her Ph,D. in Education from the University of California, Riverside with her specialization in Curriculum and Instruction; her MA in Communication Management from the University of Southern California and her BA in Social Science from the University of California, Irvine.
