Bio

Tong Tong is a doctoral student in the Rossier School of Education K-12 Education Policy concentration at the University of Southern California, advised by Dr. Adam Kho. She is interested in using quantitative methods to examine the effects of school reform efforts including school turnaround, schools of choice, and other education policies affecting traditionally disadvantaged students. She is also interested in the recruitment, training, and retention of effective public school teachers. Previously, Tong received her Masters in Urban Education Policy from Brown University. While at Brown, Tong worked as a research assistant for the Rhode Island Department of Education and Boston Public Schools to explore topics ranging from personalized learning to teacher recruitment. Before earning her degree at Brown University, she was an ELL Math teacher. She graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and a Minor in Education Cum Laude.
