Glenda Palacios Quejada

Bio

Glenda Palacios Quejada is pursuing a PhD in Urban Education Policy and she is a research assistant at the Pullias Center for Higher Education. She is advised by Tatiana Melgizo in the Higher Education concentration.

She is interested in exploring how Ethnic Studies courses impact academic performance, success in the job market, and the local community when implemented in higher education institutions, specifically community colleges. These courses are designed to explain the injustices marginalized communities face, promote critical thinking, and increase awareness of social issues.

Glenda received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics from the National University of Colombia and Andes University, respectively. She is a founder of the Colombian Association of Black Economist Women whose purpose is to analyze and generate quantitative information and advocate for rights for the Black community.
