Adjunct Associate Professor
Kanika W. Middleton is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Southern California Rossier School of Education, where she teaches graduate courses focused on educational equity, systems analysis, and professional practice. Professor Middleton is also a senior legal leader with nearly two decades of experience spanning education, private practice, government, and corporate sectors.
Professor Middleton currently serves as Assistant General Counsel for a large public school district in Texas where she directs complex litigation strategy, advises executive leadership on high-impact legal and operational matters, and leads a legal team responsible for protecting and maximizing district revenue. Her work supports the stewardship of public resources and their reinvestment in student-centered programs and instructional priorities.
Drawing upon her experience across law, education, and organizational leadership, Professor Middleton brings a multidisciplinary perspective to her teaching and professional practice. She is committed to advancing excellence, equity, and meaningful institutional impact at the intersection of law, education, and service.
