Maria Pimienta

Dr. Maria Pimienta is an accomplished education and human resources leader with 20 years of experience spanning K–12 education, charter schools, school and district leadership, and higher education. Throughout her career, she has served in a wide range of roles, including teacher, vice principal, principal, Assistant Superintendent of  K–12 Instruction, and Director of Human Resources.

Dr. Pimienta currently serves as the Director of Human Resources for TEACH Public Schools, where she leads comprehensive human resources strategy and supports organizational development, employee relations, talent acquisition and retention, credential compliance, benefits, performance management, and regulatory compliance across the organization. Her work bridges human resources, instructional leadership, school operations, and organizational strategy, giving her a unique perspective on the intersection of people and educational outcomes.

In addition to her K–12 leadership, Dr. Pimienta serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education, where she has taught graduate students since 2022. She is passionate about preparing the next generation of educators and leaders and brings real-world experience into the classroom.

Dr. Pimienta holds a doctorate in education and maintains California and Nevada teaching and administrative credentials. She has completed executive and leadership development programs through Harvard and other leading institutions, with additional specialized training in human resources, employment law, and educational leadership.

Recognized for her impact and leadership, Dr. Pimienta is a recipient of the National Life Group’s Life Changer of the Year award and has been recognized as a Woman to Watch by Connected Women of Influence. She is passionate about developing people, strengthening organizations, creating equitable and effective workplaces, and transforming educational systems so that both employees and students can thrive.
