The online Master of Education in Sports Administration and Leadership (MSAL) is designed for those who want to make a meaningful impact across youth, collegiate, and professional sports.

Rooted in human-centered, values-driven leadership, the program prepares you to support athlete development, well-being, and inclusive excellence. You’ll gain the skills to address complex challenges in sports organizations and create environments where athletes—and those who support them—can thrive.
The 24-unit MSAL program is delivered fully online and can be completed in as little as one year full-time or at a flexible, part-time pace. It combines leadership principles with practical, data-informed strategies to prepare you for today’s evolving sports landscape.
In this program, you will:
- Develop skills for careers in coaching, athletic administration, and community engagement
- Apply evidence-based practices in leadership, mental health support, and communication
- Learn in a flexible online format designed for working professionals
- Build a network across youth, collegiate, and professional sports
Scholarship funding is limited. All applicants are reviewed for merit-based scholarship consideration as part of the admissions process—no separate scholarship application is required. While admission to the program does not guarantee a scholarship, applying earlier may increase your opportunity for scholarship consideration. For the Sports Administration and Leadership program, merit-based scholarships may be worth up to $15,000. Eligible applicants are awarded based on academic achievement, alignment with the USC Rossier mission, and other selection criteria. Scholarship recipients are notified at the time of admission.
