USC Rossier and Cedars-Sinai Health Sciences University have officially opened applications for the 2026–2027 academic year of the Physician Leadership Program (PLP), a premier professional learning experience designed to equip physicians with the leadership capabilities needed to navigate today’s complex healthcare landscape.
The PLP brings together a diverse cohort of physician-leaders from across the country to engage in a rigorous, practice-based curriculum that integrates leadership theory, emotional intelligence, and organizational strategy. Through a blend of interactive sessions, case studies and applied learning, participants develop the skills to lead change, improve team performance and drive innovation in healthcare settings.
Led by USC Rossier, Cedars-Sinai faculty and interdisciplinary experts, the program emphasizes real-world problem-solving and collaborative learning. Participants benefit from a dynamic environment where they can immediately apply new frameworks and insights to their professional contexts.
“Programs like the Physician Leadership Program are critical for empowering physicians to move beyond clinical excellence into transformative leadership,” said Jennifer Phillips, PLP co-director.
The program continues to build on its strong foundation of partnerships and experiential learning opportunities, offering participants access to a network of peers and thought leaders across healthcare and beyond. “We are excited to welcome a new cohort of physician-leaders who are committed to shaping the future of healthcare,” said James Hu, PLP co-director.
Applications for the AY 2026–2027 cohort are now open. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply early. The program is partially funded through the generous support of the Remy Louis Chatain Jr. Foundation, which also supports annual Grand Rounds events to bring notable figures, such as Francis Fukuyama, Doris Kearns Goodwin and Gary Gallagher to the USC and Cedars-Sinai Health Sciences University campuses.
