Stefanie Dewing 

Stephanie Dewing, Ph.D., is an Associate Teaching Professor of Education in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Program at USC’s Rossier School of Education. Currently, she serves as the Co-Chair of the Teaching, Language, and School Practice Academic Hub as well as Co-Program Lead for the MAT Program. In addition, Dr. Dewing coordinates the Bilingual Authorization Program for teacher candidates and is the Chair of the Bilingual Authorization Advisory Board. She specializes in language and literacy development, engaging and empowering multilingual learners, and dual-language instruction, with a particular emphasis on supporting newcomer students and families. She is also the co-author of the book Teaching and Supporting English Learners: A Guide to Welcoming and Engaging Newcomers.
