USC Rossier is proud to announce that Rochelle Espitia, a doctoral candidate in the Educational Leadership (EDL) program, has been awarded the School Superintendents Association (AASA) 2026 AASA Educational Administrative Scholarship Award, a national honor recognizing outstanding leadership and promise in educational administration. Espitia serves as a principal in the Franklin-McKinley School District in San José, California.

This builds on Espitia’s earlier USC Rossier Dean’s Superintendents Advisory Group (DSAG)  Award and reflects her continued excellence and commitment to educational leadership. The AASA scholarship supports emerging leaders who demonstrate a strong dedication to advancing equity, innovation and effective practice in schools and school systems.

“From the DSAG Award to this national recognition, I cannot adequately express my gratitude for the continuous support of the USC Rossier community,” Espitia said. “I am grateful to Professor Ott for her unwavering mentorship throughout my academic journey, and Dean Noguera for his belief in my leadership and future work.”

“This scholarship is not only a tremendous honor but also a powerful affirmation of the values and preparation I have received at USC,” Espitia added. “I carry this recognition with great pride and gratitude.”
