students at the Foshay Learning Center with an Underwater Robotics StudioTwo Rossier alumni recently partnered the two programs they lead to provide 50 local students at the Foshay Learning Center with an Underwater Robotics Studio. DJ Kast BS ’11, MS ’11, MAT ’14, the director of USC Dornsife’s Young Scientist Program (YSP) and Wendy Marshall EdD 12, Director of Education and Public Programs at ExplorOcean, introduced underwater robotics in a hands-on and engaging way that allowed fourth and fifth grade students to explore a new STEM field and imagine possible careers in science or engineering. The students learned that it is fun to study concepts such as pressure, volume and buoyancy and that they can have real life applications.
