New USC Rossier Website Uses Responsive Design to Attract Students, Visitors

August 26, 2013

st-hmOn August 20, 2013, USC Rossier School of Education launched a new website that features vibrant imagery and original illustrations, easy navigation, and a new responsive design which tailors content for visitors on mobile devices and tablets. The site  positions Rossier at the forefront of its peer schools of education.

In the last two years, statistics reveal a huge jump in the number of people accessing the web from tablet and mobile devices, while the proportion of users who come from desktops has gone down.

In order to accommodate this growing audience, the USC Web Services team designed the new Rossier website to self-adjust and display content and imagery effectively on all screens, and allow for infinite scrolling on mobile devices, which web visitors now take for granted. This functionality is at the leading edge in web design, particularly in academia.

The site’s newly designed “Show & Tell”  section, highlighting the school’s latest news, features color-coded story categories that allow users to choose news in areas of interest to them.

This beautiful new website is another example of Rossier’s well-earned status as an innovator.

The new website is the result of a year-long collaboration, which included input from Rossier faculty, alumni, students, and staff.
