ACS-Hach Second Career Teacher Scholarship

The ACS-Hach Second Career Teacher Scholarship is awarded to professionals in the chemistry field pursuing a masters in education or teacher certification to teach high school chemistry. Scholarship recipients receive from $6000 up to full tuition for full-time study and $3000 for part-time enrollment. Applications are accepted annually from February 1 - April 1. Interested applicants must submit an online application.

The American Federation of Teachers

Through the Robert G. Porter Scholars Program offers four 4-year, $8,000 post-secondary scholarships to students who are dependents of AFT members, as well as 10 one-time $1,000 grants to AFT members to assist with their continuing education. All-ink.com Scholarship

All-Ink.com is offering up to $5,000 in scholarships to qualified students who are enrolled or planning to participate in an accredited college or university program during the Spring 2012 or Fall 2013 term or full-year 2012-2013 school year. Students who apply must be a United States citizen or permanent resident with a minimum 2.5 Grade Point Average. In addition, students applying are required to complete a 50 to 200 word essay about who has had the greatest impact on your life, and a 50 to 200 word essay on what you hope to achieve in your personal and professional life after completing college. You can complete your application on-line.

American Association of University Women (AAUW) Educational Foundation

American Fellowships support women doctoral candidates completing dissertations or scholars seeking funds for postdoctoral research leave from accredited institutions. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Candidates are evaluated on the basis of scholarly excellence, teaching experience, and active commitment to helping women and girls through service in their communities, professions, or fields of research.

The American Indian Graduate Center Scholars (AIGC)

Announces the availability of fellowships and loans for service to American Indian and Alaska Native undergraduate and graduate students.

American School Counselor Association Foundation (ASCA) Scholarship

Helps future school counselors fulfill their educational goals by offering the ASCA Foundation Scholarship, sponsored by Anheuser Busch and the ASCA Foundation. The $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to up to 10 students each year who are currently enrolled in a master's level school counseling program. One of the goals of the scholarship program is to encourage minority students and males to enter the school counseling profession.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI)-Scholarship Awards

This premier scholarship opportunity is afforded to Latino students who have a history of performing public service-oriented activities in their communities and who plan to continue contributing in the future. There is no GPA or major requirement. Students with excellent leadership potential are encouraged to apply.

Ford Foundation Fellowships for Minorities

Through its Fellowship Program, the Ford Foundation seeks to increase the diversity of the nation's college and university faculties. Administered by the National Research Council (NRC) since 1979, these programs provide fellowship support at the predoctoral, dissertation and postdoctoral levels. Eligibility is limited to U.S. citizens who can demonstrate superior academic achievement, are committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level, show promise of future achievement as scholars and teachers, and are well prepared to use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students. Jacob Javits Fellowships

Provides fellowships to students of superior academic ability--selected on the basis of demonstrated achievement, financial need, and exceptional promise--to undertake study at the doctoral and Master of Fine Arts level in selected fields of arts, humanities, and social sciences. Undergraduate students about to enter graduate school and graduate students who have not yet completed their first year of graduate study and who intend to pursue a doctoral or master's degree, if the master's degree is the terminal or highest degree awarded in an approved field, may apply.

La Unidad Latina Foundation, Inc.

La Unidad Latina Foundation awards educational scholarships to Hispanic students on a competitive basis and range from $250 to $1000. Eligible applicants must have completed at least one full-time semester of study. Applications are only accepted within the 45-day period prior to the deadline. Two application periods are available each year.

League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC)-National Scholarship Fund, LNSF

LNSF brings together local fund raising efforts with corporate partners to provide over $750,000.00 in scholarships to all levels of degree-seeking students each year.

Millennium Momentum Foundation, Inc. - Best & the Brightest Scholarship Program

Will be awarding academic scholarships in the amount of $3,000.00 each for the 2012-2013 academic school year to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers in public policy and other public service related fields (i.e. public administration, law, political science, social work, urban planning, education administration, etc.). Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be a member of one of the following ethnic groups; African-American, Asian-Pacific American, Hispanic/ Latino, or Indian/ Native American.

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)

NAACP is a leading advocate of equal access to quality education. In an effort to promote and ensure higher education opportunities for minority youth, the NAACP offers the following national scholarships: Earl G. Graves Scholarship, Agnes Jones Scholarship, Historically Black College & Universities Scholarship Fund, Lillian and Samuel Sutton Scholarship, Roy Wilkins scholarship, and the Hubertus W.V. Willems Scholarship. Scholarship award amounts range from $1,000 - $5,000 and are disbursed in two installments throughout a specified school year. Each scholarship contains its own set of requirements and students are encouraged to apply for each award that aligns with their eligibility.

National Association for Campus Activities (NACA)

Offers numerous scholarships that are available to graduate students, undergraduate student leaders and associate members on an annual basis.

The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships For New Americans

Provides opportunities for continuing generations of able and accomplished New Americans to achieve leadership in their chosen fields. The Program is established in recognition of the contributions New Americans have made to American life and in gratitude for the opportunities the United States has afforded the donors and their family.

P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund

PEO International Peace Scholarship Fund is a philanthropic educational organization that offers a number of scholarship opportunities for women. One of the awards is the P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship (IPS) Fund established in 1949 to provide scholarships for international women students to pursue graduate study in the United States and Canada.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program

The College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007 established a new public service loan forgiveness program. This program discharges any remaining debt after 10 years of full-time employment in public service. The borrower must have made 120 payments as part of the Direct Loan program in order to obtain this benefit. Only payments made on or after October 1, 2007 count toward the required 120 monthly payments. (Borrowers may consolidate into Direct Lending in order to qualify for this loan forgiveness program starting July 1, 2008.) There is also a 21-page law review article that details income-based repayment and public service loan forgiveness.

SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, Higher Education Loan

SchoolsFirst FCU established a Higher Education Loan with amounts up to $50000 to assist its members as they pursue master's or doctoral degrees. The loan can be used to cover tuition and other costs incurred while completing an advanced degree.

National Academy of Education/Spencer Dissertation Fellowships Program

The Dissertation Fellowship Program seeks to encourages a new generation of scholars from a wide range of disciplines and professional fields to undertake research relevant to the improvement of education. These $25,000 fellowships support individuals whose dissertations show potential for bringing fresh and constructive perspectives to the history, theory, or practice of formal or informal education anywhere in the world. This highly competitive program aims to identify the most talented researchers conducting dissertation research related to education. Like all Spencer Foundation programs, the Dissertation Fellowship program receives many more applications than it can fund. This year, up to 600 applications are anticipated and about 20 fellowships will be awarded.
