http://www.usc.edu/admission/graduate/apply/- The online system allows applicants to complete the application in sections. Select "save" or "save and proceed" at the end of a particular section.
- Please answer "Yes" to an initial question asking if you want your contact information (including your name & address) to be viewed by our institution before you submit the application. This will allow us to keep you informed of important application updates.
- Complete all required fields in the online application.
Application Instructions
- Biographical Information: If you have previously completed academic work with a name other than your current name, please provide this information in the "Other Name" section.
- Employment Information: Upload your resume in this section. The resume should reflect your employment, internships, nature of work and dates. Also include academic degrees, awards, honors or scholarships, association memberships, and teaching experience.
- Statement of Purpose: A 3-5 page (double spaced) essay with a focus on the fit between your intellectual and research interests and career goals with the Rossier faculty and research opportunities. Careful screening of the statement is done to assure fit with our focus on Urban Education Policy. The essay can be uploaded in the Supporting Documents section of the application.
- Additional Program Questions: The "Supplemental Forms" section is located on the information bar on the left side of the page. Click on the "Education" link to access the Rossier School of Education Supplemental Application. Complete the Supplemental Application questions for the Ph.D. These questions include: 1. research topics of interest 2. faculty with similar research interests 3. career goals upon completion of the Ph.D. program.
- Scholarship Questionnaire: The scholarship questionnaire is located at the end of the supplemental application. Completion of this questionnaire is required as admitted students are nominated for Graduate Assistantships, as well as, University-sponsored funding opportunities.
- Recommendations: Three references are required and academic reference letters are preferred. Select individuals most familiar with you, your work and your potential for success in graduate school. Enter all required contact information for each recommender and select "yes" when asked if recommender will be providing a letter online. Your recommenders will be notified by email with instructions on how to upload recommendation letters.
